What beckon has beclouded my mind tonight…alone
I have been walking from one street to another!
I have walked long… I have seen many…
Trams, cars, buses, all ply orderly…
Signboards, buildings, roofs were also busy in rhythms…
The lanterns of the streets, as if, know their duty...
Stunning play of light and shade at hide and seek beneath the trees
No one here makes mistake…
The nerves of the city were so vibrant and lively daylong…
Rustling of dry leaves on the deserted street,
As if, lullaby of departed souls in silent night…
Now, all have become quiet and have gone
to the land of sleep beneath the sky
Then comes a time…countless stars like glittering diamonds,
Surround the top of The Statue of Liberty…
Amazing animation of earthly inanimation
Have I ever seen anything inappeasable simpler than this, or
Have I felt their profound peace ever in my heart!
Darkness of night has appeared like-
A woman who, as if, loved me all times…yet,
never have I seen her face
The mesmerizing night of autumn reminds me
The glory and story of an extinct city,
Appears in my heart - the beauty of a timeworn grayish palace of that city,
Full of rare furniture, Persian carpet, shawl of Kashmir,
Rare pearls, famous statues…
All these were there with many desires and dreams in orange sunshine
I have walked long…I have seen many…
Nevertheless, I have not found a statue or a painting of
Eirene (Goddess of Peace) in that dwelling palace!
Faint light is appearing from the east of The Statue of Liberty…it is end of night
Longing has its stay in the palace of incompleteness, where…
Chandeliers are there but candles do not burn
Peace everywhere…peace in air…peace in ocean…peace in mind
Morning mist has doused the flame of thousand years old… a new beginning…
I have been walking from one street to another!
